Grimm continued filming the same episode filmed from The Lovejoy Fountain Park and moved to NW Portland. They started filming at this location on November 5th and filmed again on the 6th. On the first night of filming photos were out with Renard in his SUV parked at the park blocks. There was also some basketball play going on in the park. When I went on Friday the 9th, they were using the multi-story old brick bldg. on the corner of NW 9th and Glisan. They had set up base camp just a block away in the empty parking lot. They also had trucks adjacent to this building in the parking lot. When I first got there around noon time it was pretty quiet with just a few people around. I quickly saw that they had their electrical cords snaked along the sidewalks and several went into the brick building. I did get a glimpse inside the buildings doorway and saw that the main floor was empty with lots of filming equipment inside.
They did some rehearsing and filming through the later afternoon. I could see into two of the windows facing the park and saw that they had built some inside structures. There was also a pile of lumber on the sidewalk that looked like they had used that for building. I did not see any actors arriving or leaving the area. When it started getting dark they set up some spot lights across the street facing the front of the building that were focused on the windows. They also put two spotlights on the park side and those pointed to the two windows there. I could see people and part of the structure inside the windows. They continued filming inside the building through the evening. Around 9:00 pm they brought out the water truck and sprayed down the basketball court area in the park. They asked us to move to the sidewalk. They said they were filming out the windows towards the park area. They rehearsed and filmed several times. I did notice a guy and woman walking around the park perimeter and he looked familiar. When I left I saw him again and recognized him as Daivd G. stunt double. I had met him last year. I think he may have been rehearsing and working earlier in the day inside the building and was now acting as a extra in the park. No one would say if there were actors in the building working, but my guess is that there were. I left about 11:00 because we were told they would only be filming in the park one scene with the basketball being shot by a gun. It was going to be done with CG work later and no actors were involved.
