On a recent trip to Vancouver BC, I also spent a day visiting the town of Steveston. It is a old fishing village that is currently used for filming with the ABC TV show Once Upon a Time. It was like stepping back in time with the old style buildings throughout the town. Many of the towns buildings had new but made to look old, signage for Storybrooke. It was quite fun to see how they transformed parts of the town for the filming. The most confusing was several businesses that had a sign for one thing (like a mortuary) and be a totally different type of real business. I also visited Steveston Coffee House and had a great coffee while I was there.
There is also located there on the water the Gulf of Georgia Cannery. It was also signed with Storybrooke cannery. We took the tour of this now museum and found it really fascinating about how the cannery’s of British Columbia have all now stopped business. Because of low fishing they are a thing of the past.
Its a great city to visit and fun to see the Cannery Museum as well.
