Fantastic Beasts starts out with a bang and continues with weaving its wizardry and special effects throughout the movie. The movie takes place in 1926 with Newt (Eddie Redmayne) arriving in the US off the boat and brings with him his suitcase of Fantastic Beasts. While making his way through New York City he befriends the humorous Jacob (Dan Fogler) and he soon becomes the comedic relief for the sometimes destructive and fast moving story. After adding in sisters Porpentina (Katherine Waterston) and Queenie ( Alison Sudol) the foursome are on their quest to save the city.
While they are at times at odds with the cities wizard world the ending proves to bring them all together with a few surprises. The chemistry and attraction between Jacob and Queenie is the cutest part of the movie and of course ends on a sweet note. Eddie Redmayne consumes the part of Newt and is brilliant with bringing his group together. He and Jacob display the most beautiful sense of wonder and amazement while exploring Newts Beast’s world.
The whole movie is an amazing world of special effects, beautiful time period costumes by Colleen Atwood and of course Fantastic Beasts.
Fantastic Beasts opens November 18th.
