#NOSHELL PROTESTERS DANGLING ON ST. JOHNS BRIDGE
A national news event right here in Portland. This week 13 “dangling” Greenpeace protesters attached themselves to the St. Johns Bridge, hanging off the bridge. They were trying to block the ship Fennica from leaving Portland along the Willamette River to the Columbia River and onto the Ocean. The ship is heading to the arctic ocean to deliver a part needed for Shell Oil exploration drilling. They protesters were on the ropes for over 24 hours. Tonight the Portland Police, Coast Guard and several other agencies gathered to bring the protesters down safely. I was able to visit the area in the morning and was able to get some photos. It was quite amazing to see these people hanging off the bridge. With a dock area on the river I was able to get almost under the protesters. Great photos of the bridge and Cathedral park. There were several drones filming in the area.
