Grimm production set up in Old Town Portland this week covering several blocks with their trucks and equipment. They were located at NW Couch near NW 1st through NW 4th. I was able to watch filming at night at a tall red brick building which houses Jones Bar on 107 NW Couch. When I arrived they were still filming inside the bar with about 25 extras. They had been filming there earlier with a few of the GRIMM cast. There was also an alleyway between this building and the adjacent building and they were using this alleyway to bring equipment in the out of the bar. I was told there was a bar fight inside and then a quick getaway with some actors. I did not recognize any of the actors working except for one that I believe has been in other episodes.
The scene was with a huge Hummer vehicle driving around the corner, stopping in front of the bar. Then four guys came out and got into the Hummer and drove off. They spent over an hour setting up the scene on the street. They closed off the street first. Then the water truck came trough and watered down the whole street and intersection. They used several huge lights along the street with one aimed into the trees across the street where they filmed. It gave it a Grimm look for sure. I left about midnight and they were still filming with the entrance of the bar and the actors and extras coming out.
After this they were going around the corner to NW 1st and NW Davis and filming on the street there.
This cameraman set this up twice and still moved it afterward for filming.
He looked very familiar….
Here is how Jone Bar looked the day after with their own signs back up:
